Under our parent company GL events, FLOW were appointed as the Official Sites Temporary Power and HVAC supplier for the FIFA World Cup, Qatar 2022. More than 1,000 silenced generators were deployed with 4,000 distribution boards and over 1,000,000m of electrical cable — all project managed, installed, commissioned and maintained by a team of more than 400 staff from across the globe.
The Esports World Cup is the largest professional esports event in the world. Held at Boulevard City in Riyadh, the EWC Festival hosted community esports tournaments, live music, retro arcades, anime cafés, cosplay, and creator studios. Over eight consecutive weeks, 1,500 athletes and over 200 clubs competed across 22 tournaments and 21 titles with a record-breaking $60M prize pool.
MDL Beast Soundstorm is a major fixture on the Saudi Arabian events calendar, attracting more than 700,000 spectators over 3 days. FLOW has been involved since 2020 and in 2022 was directly contracted by the event organiser to supply temporary HVAC and power solutions, including bespoke HVAC for VIP hospitality lounges and temporary electrical distribution for hospitality structures and live TV broadcast.
A substantial power supply supporting the festival's extensive lighting, sound systems, and stage effects — all designed to create an immersive environment. FLOW also provided a comprehensive HVAC package for the Dance Tent, maintaining a comfortable 20°C internal environment with both cooling and heating capabilities for 15,000 attendees regardless of external weather conditions.
Power and design infrastructure for the undisputed heavyweight championship between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, held on 18 May 2024 in Riyadh. The first bout for the undisputed heavyweight title since Holyfield vs. Lewis II in 1999, and the first time two undefeated heavyweights had fought for the undisputed title since Holyfield vs. Bowe in 1993.
The debut event of Armin van Buuren's "Seven Wonders" series — an immersive audio-visual experience held in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. The show featured a unique stage design with pillar-shaped screens, drone displays, and bursts of fire, creating a futuristic atmosphere. Blending trance music with other genres, the intimate setting allowed for a deeper connection between artist and crowd.
As the richest horse meeting in the world, the Saudi Cup is the pinnacle of the horse racing calendar. FLOW has been involved from its inauguration in 2019 through to 2022, providing power solutions and engineering design to vast temporary hospitality suites. Best-in-class generators and specialist event distribution ensured thousands of spectators were supported throughout the racing.
A world-renowned event first showcased in Saudi Arabia in 2019. FLOW was awarded the contract to supply temporary power for the starts and finishes at every stage of the rally, supported by large temporary infrastructure. FLOW also designed and installed temporary power for the opening ceremony, delivering a unique spectacle to launch the Dakar Rally within Saudi Arabia.
Under GL events, FLOW was appointed official power provider for the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. Despite the geographical distance, FLOW — through our GL events Peru office — delivered the complete temporary power scope including all televised sports, the International Broadcast Centre, and the entire event overlay. Local supplier partnerships reduced the environmental footprint of long-distance freight.
Led from our Middle East office, the 18th Asian Games was a major multi-city event across Jakarta and Palembang — more than 500km apart. FLOW provided temporary power for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the International Broadcast Centre, and all televised sports, alongside HVAC for overlay structures including the Athletes Village Main Dining Hall and the temporary Squash venue.
